Too Much Stress

The thing about holiday stress is that you can actually moderate the degree to which you let it affect you. Most holidays aren’t easy on people. There is too much to do. Too many places to go. Too many places to be. Too much shopping. Too many long line-ups. The many pressures and expectations all contribute to stress and feelings of overwhelm. This year, how much stress are you willing to endure?

Common Symptoms of Stress:

  • Negatively affects your sleep patterns
  • Contributes to feelings of anxiety and depression
  • Causes muscle tension, backaches and headaches
  • Accentuates feelings of irritability and frustration

Ways You Can Manage Stress:

  • Make time for your self
  • Make time for your self

  • Have regular massage or bodywork
  • Practice yoga or some other physical activity
  • Listen to relaxing music
  • Say no
  • Enjoy yourself in a favourite pastime or hobby
  • Avoid the hype
  • Reduce or limit the demands and external pressures on your daily life
  • Practice relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, visualizations
  • MAKE TIME FOR YOUR SELF
