Massage Therapy Hall of FamersThis year, the very well-known Esalen® Institute is the first institution to be inducted into the Massage Therapy Hall of Fame. The Esalen® Institute has been around since the 1960s. It has become world renown for its alternative education and personal growth programs in subjects such as meditation, massage, yoga, psychology, ecology, spirituality, art, and music. It is a retreat center situated on the Big Sur cliffs in Northern California. Brita Ostrom, Massage School Director of the Esalen® Institute, will be this years' Massage Therapy Hall of Fame keynote Speaker. 2007 Massage Therapy Hall of Famers include the following esteemed members:
Much of what's been recorded in the history of massage has not always acknowledged the efforts of those who have come before us, particularly women healers.
