Hope

One of the greatest things you can do for someone who is not well, is to hold onto hope when they have lost sight of it.

If you have ever been chronically ill or have developed a health condition that severely affected the way you lived your life, you most likely made a few attempts at finding some relief through the help of an alternative or holistic health practitioner (massage therapist, acupuncturist, herbalist, etc). Living with any medical condition and the limitations it places on your life, can really affect your state of mind and sense of control over your life. The one thing I have always tried to convey as a holistic health practitioner, is that no one has the right to take your hope away. I have heard so many stories of people who were told by their medical practitioner that nothing could be done. Ironically, I have found myself in that very same position and realize how significant it is for someone to give you hope when you have lost sight of it. And while not every alternative or holistic health treatment may work for you, what you may gain back in the process could very well be the hope you needed to keep going.
