Relaxation Technique

At least once a day, plan to spend some time relaxing. Sit somewhere comfortable, close your eyes and relax. Focus on your breath. Choose a word that you equate with relaxation or peace. Continuously repeat this word. Repeat it aloud or in your mind. You could try "relax" or "calm" or "peace" or some other meaningful word or phrase. If other thoughts come, just acknowledge them and go back to your special word. Try this exercise for a few minutes each day.
