» Feature Writer Joni Rose - Hi there,

Hi there,

Can you demystify for me what the best carrier oil is? I have a lot of essential oils and am wondering what I can add them to for massage - especially for very dry, cracked feet.

Thanks,

Joni

Hi Joni,

I have to tell you that I haven't experimented too much with oils. I have always been partial to using grapeseed oil for massage, because it is nice and light,it doesn't compete with the essential oil, has a longer shelf life than most oils, and it seems to be hypoallergenic as I have never had any problems using it. Grapeseed oil wouldn't be so great for dry, cracked feet, however. I would try something like avocado or olive oil. Avocado oil is very rich in vitamins and is much thicker, but also a bit more pricier.

Hope this helps.

You will most definitely find the avocado oil at a healthfood store, along with a variety of facial and skin care products that contain this oil. I recently tried "Udderly Smooth Foot Cream" which you might want to try as well. happy
